Pride Day – Brussels Pride – The Belgian & European Pride

RainbowHouse Saturday 20 May 2023

The beautiful days are back ! Soon “The day” ! Let’s hit the pavement ! Let’s go out and celebrate ! With militancy and colors.
Every year in Brussels, just after the Idahot day – world day against homophobia – on May 17, and before the month of the prides in June, the city is dressed in colors and glitter to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community.
See you on May 20th for Pride Day! Come support and participate in the outreach of queer people!

What to expect?
The Mont des Arts will host the Pride Village where you will be able to meet associations and institutions involved in the issues and fields that concern us. Information and relaxation on the program.
The Pride Parade, at 2pm, a march through the city which will be an opportunity for associations, activists and allies to walk through the center and pay tribute to their rights and struggles!
There will also be speeches, concerts, performances and a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community in its diversity!
The animation of the street Marché au Charbon and Grands Carmes where you will be able to find the Brussels associative throughout the day.

Brussels Pride is an event organized this year by Visit Brussel, with the advice of the federations and associations involved.
Reminder: the theme of Brussels Pride this year is “Protect the Protest”. The federations have chosen to carry this theme of Amnesty International, in order to recall the importance of the right to demonstrate and to assert our identities and grievances. Demonstration is a motor for change and is still too often thwarted or even threatened in various states.
Today we sometimes hear that LGBTQIA+ people enjoy all the rights they could possibly have, that claiming an existence in the public space is no longer an imperative, or even that they would no longer be targets of discrimination. The experience of the vast majority of queer people proves otherwise. We must continue to exist, to claim a place in our society and will defend our right to demonstrate on behalf of the LGBTQIA+ community.

All the details about the project are available on the Brussels Pride website as well as on the Facebook and Instagram page!
