This photo exhibition presents the backstage of Brussels’ burlesque, transformist and drag cabarets. For 5 years, the artist has had the privilege of capturing what happens behind the curtains, partitions, stairs and walls that separate the stage from backstage.
From Manko to Cabaret Mademoiselle to Chez Maman, she wandered backstage, between wigs, feathers and sequins. Immortalizing the moment, the transformation, the change. A mouth that takes shape, a dress that sublimates, a heel that lengthens. A perfume that marks the end of a person and the beginning of a character. All this to entertain you, amuse you, fill you with wonder, but also to bring a reflection on diverse and important subjects.
From Maman to Lolly Wish through Jean Biche, Mademoiselle Boop and many talented artists, come discover and rediscover the internationally renowned artists who make the success of these many cabarets.
