As part of the PrideFestival Brussels, Q rators, RainbowHouse and vzw Amazone absl present you:
Alina Kopytsya (UA – CH), Plug it, participatory performance.
The rules of the game are as flexible as silicone, which is the essential element of interaction between players. The game, which can bring together 4 to 12 people, can be read on several levels. Players need to connect to a pair of silicone toys attached to different parts of the body. The number of players can vary from two to infinity.
A Ukrainian artist based in Zurich, Alina Kopytsya graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 2006.
Since 2011 she has participated in major international and Ukrainian collective and personal artistic projects such as “Women’s workshop” at the Visual Culture Research Centre, Kyiv, Ukraine; “Gender” at IZOLYATSIA Donetsk, Ukraine Body and Freedom Festival, Biel, Switzerland, “What in Me Is Feminine?”, Visual Culture Research Center, Kyiv; Performance Alternative story, Cabaret der Kunstler, Zunfthaus Voltaire, Manifesta 11, Zurich,Switzerland; Childhood Re-Creation, Raum Junge Kunst /Ratskeller Lichtenberg, Berlin, Germany; “Plug it”, Lokal int gallery, Biel, Switzerland; “Puppenhous”, Sihlhhalle gallery, Zurich, Switzerland.
The performance will invite participants to play the plug game during the completion of the exhibition “Liberties” from 7pm on May 14th.
